About the Customer: SUPREME COUNCIL FOR WOMEN (SCW)

The Supreme Council of Women was established on 22 August in Bahrain as a new advisory body to assist the government to frame policies on women’s issues. The Council has its own offices , which includes a secretariat and a documentation centre, where the Council’s research is stored along with an extensive library of publications, studies and data related to women’s affairs. SCW has chosen Almoayed Group as their preferred vendor for end-to-end data and voice networking including security services for their LAN and WAN network.

Solution Highlights: NETWORK WITH FIBER BACKBONE

We have deployed the Campus Area Network (CAN) Backbone on Fiber Solutions for SCW. All users within each building will be on 10/100 Fast Ethernet. This solution entails the installation & configuration fo the new network(s) with the Cisco switches. SCW required connection to the CIO-GDN Network via MPLS connection from Batelco. We have made this possible by using Catalyst 3550 switches with 48 10/100 ports, keeping in mind future expandability of SCW to other remote networks. The solution caters to the SCW’s requirement of 17 Fast Ethernet ports, along with 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports. It included Nordx cabling, wherein Nordx manufacturers provided with intelligent, reliable installation of its structured cabling solutions. Cisco 4700 series switches in clustered mode with 3750 edge switches were used as the data active components which supported more than 300 users. The passive component provided was Nortel communication server 1000 with 200 digital phones. The communication server1000 is a server based, full featured IP PABX, providing the benefits of the converged network plus advanced applications and over 450 world-class telephony features, designed to scale to meet growing enterprise requirements. Communication server1000 routes calls from IP phones and analog devices over the IP network to a multiVOIP gateway at remote office location. The multiVOIP gateway interfaces directly with any analog phone, fax machine, key system or PBX and delivers key call processing and calling features.
