About the Customer: Arab Banking Corporation, Bahrain

Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C) (“ABC”) was incorporated on 17th January 1980 by Amiri Decree in the Kingdom of Bahrain as an offshore banking unit. The Bank’s shares are listed on the Bahrain stock exchange. ABC’s international network has been focused on the development and support of Group activities in its core domestic markets, principally through the key business lines of trade finance and project finance.

Solution Highlights:

ABC is an international Arab source of financial services and financial intermediary between the Arab world and other markets. The requirement was for a strong integrated IT infrastructure that can support multiple complex transactions across the middle east and the rest of the world. The objective was achieved by deploying on Unisys ES7000 series server using SAN core banking application from Urbis. SAN is Storage Area Network with high-speed special-purpose network (or sub network) that interconnects different kinds of data storage devices with associated data servers on behalf of a larger network of users. Typically, a storage area network is part of the overall network of computing resources for an enterprise.The solution was deployed within the stipulated timelines.
